Cristina is an environmental scientist specialised in nature conservation. Her work and experience focus on the role of protected and conserved areas in biodiversity conservation, and the use of data and spatial analyses to support evidence-based decision-making. Currently, Cristina is the European Commission's Joint Research Centre’s focal point for the Caribbean region as part of the BIOPAMA programme.
