Overview of Biodiversity in Grenada. Prepared for Workshop on Biosafety (2005)

This paper discusses the idea that protected areas can be used not only for biodiversity conservation but also for promoting sustainable development. The paper outlines the process for setting up a Sustainable Development Area and explains that both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development can be achieved through the medium of protected areas. The paper also provides different disciplinary idioms to explain the concept of sustainable development.
